Change
is easier to think about
when you focus on
what can you accomplish right now.

Keep doing this every day.

Look back every once in a while to remind yourself how far you’ve come,

and look forward every once in a while to keep your eyes on the goal.

Small steps will add up to big changes, but they take TIME. It takes time for our brains to wire new habits and for us to develop new skills.

Sometimes change happens all at once, like a moving life event. But with most others, it is an accumulation of actions and thoughts over time. It can be like a raging storm front that suddenly blows through, or the slow warming of the seasons from winter to spring. It is all change.

Change doesn’t require a rigid plan. It doesn’t need to be immediate. Some changes are like planting seeds, and it’s okay to sit on motivation for a while until it manifests with resources, energy, and inspiration. When it does, run with it!

Being eco friendly is one of the goals of my blog. Changing a disposable and waste-heavy culture is starting one person at a time, but every adjustment you make in your life, no matter how small, is contributing to a healthier planet and a more sustainable future.

The aftermath of today’s lunch at work. I stored it in a glass container and ate with a reusable utensil set.

Glass is great because it washes clean and doesn’t stain like plastic containers. I think my food also tastes better.

I don’t always remember to bring my utensil set, but I’m becoming more consistent. I chose bamboo instead of stainless steel because it’s lighter. Who wants a heavy purse? My bamboo set comes with a carry case that makes it convenient to toss in my small backpack. Sometimes, I even forget it’s there!

I saw this gorgeous flower peeking at me from under a bush when I was walking. I had to stop for a picture.

It’s easy to speed along my daily routes because I want to get home or I’m hungry.

But we’re missing so much by living this way.
Flowers bloom, leaves change, clouds move. Beauty is all around us, if we just slow down to see it.

Something different will be along your path each day. By being mindful and present, we can notice and appreciate these small changes.

This summer, I started going to farmer’s markets 👩🏻‍🌾 every week. I’m not sure why I didn’t start doing this sooner.

Food at the grocery store isn’t always picked when it’s ripe. I remember the first time I tried fresh-picked strawberries 🍓 (by yours truly) and was shocked. They didn’t even taste like the same fruit I had grown up knowing.

Do natural products work? Green is becoming trendy, which means we’ll be increasingly susceptible to eco-friendly marketing.

In general, I stay away from the luxury items and stick to products with 10 ingredients or less. Less is more. Too many claims of benefits is suspicious, because real healing comes from the inside out. Read more in my blog post - link in bio.

Cleaning with only 3 products is a breeze. New blog post about eco-friendly and low-cost items. (Full post available via link in bio). Using these 3 products has made cleaning a more enjoyable experience and frees up space in the cabinet under my sink. They can be used for more than one purpose - think everything from laundry to dishes.

1. White vinegar
2. Multi-purpose soap
3. Oxygen powder

Gone are bottles of special cleaning agents that were both toxic and expensive. I’d prefer to spend my money on something else!
